Last Friday evening, my daughter’s school planned a Parent Night Out at 50/50 Taphouse where parents could meet other parents from the same school.  50/50 Taphouse was the perfect place for this type of event, so we were more than happy to attend and have an amazing evening out!  For those that have never been, 50/50 Taphouse is named as such because they offer around 50 different burgers and have around 50 different types of beer and cider on tap.  One of our favorite spots, 50/50 Taphouse will always be at the top of our list if you are looking for an incredible and unique burger and brew!

Price 💲💲out of 5

The prices at 50/50 are very manageable.  Nearly every massive burger comes with hand cut fries and a pickle, and only costs $14.  There are a handful of premium burgers on the menu that are a bit more expensive, but every single one of them is exceptional value.  The drinks are also reasonable, as are the apps and other food items.  This is a great spot to get a fantastic meal and drinks without breaking the bank.

Ambience 🧑‍🍳 🧑‍🍳 🧑‍🍳🧑‍🍳 out of 5

50/50 is such a cool spot.  There is plenty of room for seating, and it has a very industrial feel with plenty of hightop longer tables and smaller, traditional tables.  There is a massive bar, plenty of televisions lining the walls, incredible decor, and, most importantly, a game area for patrons to mingle.  They have multiple shuffle boards and pool tables set up.  For some reason, they do have a 21 and up restriction on that area, so kids cannot use that area to stay entertained.

Let’s talk about the food!  50/50 has an extensive food menu.  While the burgers are definitely the star of the show, they also have appetizers, wings, and other miscellaneous items.  On this night, we started off with an order of fried pickle spears and bacon and cheese fries.  The pickles were absolutely perfect.  Crispy, tangy, and piping hot.  They were served with a side of ranch and were devoured quickly.  The cheese fries were really good, but we felt they could have done a better job of layering the fries, bacon, and cheese so that every bit had a combination of all the flavors we were hoping for.

In terms of burgers, I went with the Royale.  This was my first time trying that burger, and I’m so glad that I did.  (Disclaimer, I get mine cooked well done – that is just my preference, so it probably doesn’t look as juicy as many people would prefer.  Those that get it cooked at a lower level said their burgers were plenty juicy).  This burger had blue cheese, carmelized onions, and bacon.  So good!

Robbie is a creature of habit, so she got the same burger she always goes for – the Comfort.  This bunless burger is served on a bed of mashed potatoes and smothered in gravy and peas.  While I think putting peas on a burger is a crime, I do appreciate that 50/50 offers different options other than a standard burger patty between two buns.  They have bun and patty substitutes to suit any type of dietary restrictions!

Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5

Overall, our experience at 50/50 Taphouse was consistent as ever – extremely good food that ended with a bill just around $60 including tip (for two sodas, two appetizers, and two burgers – we decided not to drink alcohol on this trip).  I cannot recommend 50/50 Taphouse enough if you want an evening out with friends, coworkers, or even a date night.  I would probably leave the kids at home, as there isn’t a ton to keep them occupied.  If you want a unique burger with fresh ingredients, there is not better place in Winchester than 50/50 Taphouse!
