A specialty coffee shop comes to Charles Town, WV
Walking down Charles Town’s Main Street, you’ll see what you expect from a small, historic town. It’s filled with shops that have been around for decades, picturesque historical buildings with mountains in the distance, and a close-knit community that hosts a farmers market every summer, as well as Christmas celebrations in December. So, when a new shop or store opens, it’s exciting! When I saw La Gazelle was a new, speciality coffee shop right in the heart of downtown Charles Town, I couldn’t wait to try it. After all, trying small town coffee shops is a hobby of mine and one of my favorite parts of any vacation my family and I take!
What Makes La Gazelle So Special?
The first time I entered La Gazelle, I knew I had found something special. I was greeted with a cozy, rustic atmosphere; it was truly calming. As I approached the counter and looked at the menu, I was pleased to see the regular coffee drinks you would expect from a coffee shop, but also a list of 5 speciality lattes, including rose, Spanish, red velvet, honey cinnamon, and pistachio cream. As soon as I tried the iced honey cinnamon latte, I was hooked. The espresso was the smoothest I had ever tasted, and the honey and cinnamon paired perfectly together. I knew I had found a hidden gem and I couldn’t wait to get back to try the other speciality lattes.
Did Charles Town really get this lucky?
Before I even finished my first latte from La Gazelle, I was reaching out to other coffee addicts I know to let them in on the secret. The overall consensus was the same – La Gazelle is truly a speciality coffee shop with some of the best coffee around. And how perfect to have this place right in our own backyard? They even have great hours; they open by 7am each day and they stay open into the evening. For an early bird like me, I can get my coffee fix shortly after I wake up, but for all of the night owls, you have a place to go, too. They host open mic nights, as well.
Have you ever tried a Spanish latte?
Since my first trip, I have visited La Gazelle too many times to count. I have tried each of their speciality lattes and enjoyed them all. My favorite, though, is the Spanish latte. It was a recommendation from the owner and after the first sip, I was sold. It is creamier and richer than a regular latte, with the perfect amount of sweetness. It is my new addiction!
Conclusion
La Gazelle is a must for any coffee lover. Between the cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, convenient hours, and some of the best coffee around, you can’t go wrong with trying this place out. You can also purchase pastries like croissants and muffins. So, the next time you have a meeting, want to impress a date, or just need some good coffee, check out La Gazelle. You won’t be disappointed! Find them on Facebook!
I love LA Gazelle. My family and a friend from Winchester, and myself have become regular customers! We love LA Gazelle!
