We were recently invited to attend the soft opening of The Venue at Brix27’s Sunday brunch. This newly renovated space will be used for different events, but they will be hosting all-you-can-eat Sunday brunches, a much-needed activity for our area. Rather than driving out of state to find a state-of-the-art brunch spot, we can enjoy this right in our backyard now! From our experience at the soft opening, the food is high quality, the options are vast, and the price is reasonable. We are looking forward to going back once its open to the public!

Price 💲💲💲 out of 5

For an all-you-can-eat, high-quality brunch, the price is very reasonable. At 35 dollars per person, you just can’t beat it. This includes all food and non-alcoholic beverages, like water and coffee. Alcoholic beverages are extra, but the prices were standard (12-14 dollars for liquor drinks, 8 dollars for wine, and 5-8 dollars for beer). This is a buffet-style brunch, so you can serve yourself at almost all the stations. For the quality and variety, the price is certainly worth it.

Ambience 🧑‍🍳 🧑‍🍳 🧑‍🍳 🧑‍🍳 🧑‍🍳 out of 5

The Venue at Brix27 is newly renovated and stunning! This space is primarily a venue space for events like weddings, corporate parties, private parties, etc., but they will be using it as brunch space on Sundays. Although our area has many wedding venues, we do lack these type of ballroom-style wedding venues. For me personally, it was what I wanted for my wedding back in 2020, and although we found an amazing venue to host our wedding, if the Venue at Brix27 had been opened back then, it would have been a top contender for me.

This venue includes a sprawling ballroom, with beautiful chandeliers, wood floors, beautiful brick walls, and a large bar and stage area. There is also a downstairs area that that can be used for weddings for the bridal party. Overall, this was a much-needed space for the Martinsburg area and I look forward to seeing all of the different ways it will be utilized!

Drinks 🍸🍸🍸🍸 out of 5

The drink menu was rather typical for a brunch spot. Brunch staples like mimosas, Bloody Mary’s, and espresso martinis were on the menu, along with other popular cocktails and several red wines, white wines, and beers. I opted for the mimosa to pair with my brunch and it had a good ratio of prosecco to orange juice. The Bloody Mary was also solid and was garnished with a green olive. My favorite drink, though, was the coffee. It was a self-service coffee station, but the coffee was of the highest quality. It’s a simple drink, but easy to mess up, and this coffee left me wanting more and more cups.

Food 🥩🥩🥩🥩 out of 5

The first word that comes to mind when I think of the food at the Venue by Brix27 is quality, which is no surprise because Brix27 has a reputation for high quality food. Since this is an all-you-can eat buffet, you also have a lot of variety in food selection. They had traditional breakfast foods, like eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage, but they also had lunch foods as well, like pasta, chicken, roasted vegetables, shrimp shooters, and a salad station. Other items included some of the freshest fruit I’ve had in this area, yogurt parfaits, bagels and other breads with an array of spreads, biscuits and gravy, and a variety of sweet treats. The star of the show; however, was the prime rib carving station. The prime rib had amazing flavor and could be paired with au jus and horseradish. My personal favorite dish were the shrimp shooters. They were seasoned well, and they were already peeled and ready to eat! You could tell each item was intentionally picked for the buffet and care and thought was put into it.

Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5

Overall, the Venue by Brix27 is a special place and helps to fill a gap in our area. We sat by the window, so we were able to enjoy a view of the downtown area. Between the venue, the food, and the price, I easily rate this as a five out of five for experience. I enjoyed the brunch as a date with my husband, but it’s also a place you could go to with family or friends. I would feel comfortable bringing my child here but could also go here with my girlfriends. It felt fancy but was also casual. I look forward to attending Sunday brunch here in the future.
