The next stop on our Jefferson County Restaurant Week tour was Kelley Farm Kitchen, a super cool vegan spot in Harper’s Ferry. I had never been to this place, and had never been to a vegan restaurant in general. As a non-vegan, I was a little apprehensive since I have had meat substitutes before that weren’t very good, but I was blown away by the flavor at Kelley Farm Kitchen. Vegans and carnivores alike can find plenty of amazing options at this spot in downtown Harper’s Ferry!

We have got another great deal for those who choose to dine during Restaurant Week. This week, Kelley Farm Kitchen is offering up a “Pick 3 for $33” deal, where you can pick three entrees (with two sides) for $33. Obviously, this is meant for a group – although no judgement, I could probably have eaten all three entrees with how amazing they were! If you are out with friends or family and want to try something very unique, swing on down to Kelley Farm Kitchen to get the whole crew fed for $33!

Quirky and unique would be the two words I would use to describe the vibe at Kelley Farm Kitchen. The building screams Harper’s Ferry – small indoor seating area, plenty of picnic tables outside, and all kinds of custom art and signage inside. Kelley Farm Kitchen is all about sustainability and being eco-friendly – all the food is sourced from natural ingredients. It is truly unlike any other restaurant I have ever been to.

I completely understand if there is hesitancy around trying vegan food. Places that try to halfheartedly serve vegan food usually end up serving tasteless junk. Thankfully, Kelley Farm Kitchen specializes in this type of cuisine, and they have absolutely nailed the flavor profiles. We ended up getting the 3 for $33 offering, and we got two of their “burgers” and one of their “chick’n” sandwiches. Obviously both were plant-based, and while you could tell from the texture, the flavor was on point. All of us agreed that the sandwiches were so good and the flavor absolutely resembled a beef burger or chicken sandwich. They loaded each sandwich up with fresh veggies, and the bun was extremely fluffy and delicious.

For the sides, all of them came with kettle potato chips, which were pretty standard. The three other sides were all interesting. The chili was by far my favorite. They absolutely nailed the smoky chili flavor. I truly couldn’t care less that there was no meat in it because of how flavorful the chili was. The pinto beans were what you would expect. They were very mild and just a solid, wholesome side. The mac and cheese was good. I think mac and cheese is by far the hardest thing to do with vegan ingredients, and at the end of the day, non-vegan mac and cheese is so much easier to make flavorful, but this was extremely healthy for you without tasting like garbage. All in all, I was blown away that that much flavor could be packed into vegan food.

While Kelley Farm Kitchen probably wouldn’t have been a place I would have stopped if we hadn’t been showcasing Restaurant Week, I am so happy I did and will definitely need to come back soon. While I may never become a vegan, if I could eat this food every day for the rest of the my life, I think I could kiss meat goodbye. The best part of this meal is that you not only leave feeling satisfied, but you leave with the understanding that you put all natural, healthy ingredients in your body. Do yourself a favor and try this spot that is serving up killer vegan food right in our own backyard!
