One of the most polarizing restaurants in our local area is the Snow White Grill. The consensus for a long time was that they had phenomenal burgers and fries, but they had very inconvenient and non-intuitive hours, so hungry patrons constantly had to look elsewhere after an evening on the walking mall in downtown Winchester. Well, the Snow White Grill is under new management, and after talking to the new owner, can safely say that Snow White Grill will be much more accessible moving forward, as they will be open six days a week (all but Tuesday).

The Snow White Grill is a perfect place if you just need a small snack and do not want to have a huge meal. You can order sliders by the each, or you can do a combo with two or four sliders, fries, and a soft drink. The prices vary depending on how many sliders you order, but nothing breaks the banks.

Ambience 🧑🍳 🧑🍳 out of 5
Let’s get the negative out of the way first. The Snow White Grill is very small on the inside, with about 10 seats along the bar, and a couple outdoor tables. It cannot handle many dine-in customers at once, but many people grab burgers on the go, so the model works. However, be aware that you may have trouble finding a spot if the weather is bad.
It is your typical diner with stool seats, a long table top, and the chefs cooking the burgers right in front of you at the grill. It is definitely a more intimate experience with other diners, so I would not recommend this as a place for a date night or for meaningful, private conversation. The Snow White Grill knows what it is, and they do a fantastic job of delivering a delicious snack for hungry patrons on the go.

The menu at the Snow White Grill is probably the most basic I have ever come across since joining the Foodies team. They offer burgers (with topping options including cheese and bacon), fries, and various soft drinks. They also occasionally have other items during different seasons or special events. This past weekend during the Chocolate Escape event at the walking mall, they also had a Coca Cola cherry cake as a dessert option.
The sliders are absolutely sensational. So much better than a White Castle. The burgers are all prepped in batches, ensuring that you can get however many sliders you want in a very quick turn around. They have a method to their burgers, and they do not offer modifications outside of add ons (which I’m perfectly fine with – some restaurants cater to each individual’s dietary needs, but I don’t think that should be viewed as a requirement). The new management actually took the time to meet with the original owners to ensure that the quality was up to the standard the Snow White Grill has set. The fries are also hot and crispy. They do have that fast food look and texture, but they have more depth of flavor than you get at your local fast food burger chain. Lastly, the special chocolate cake was moist and did have a bit of a Coke flavor, but I believe that was only available for the Chocolate Escape event.

It is such a good feeling to know that one of the best spots to get burgers in this area is back to operating at a consistent level. I had such a great conversation with the new owner, and just from that and seeing his interactions with customers since they took over, I can confidently say that the Snow White Grill is in excellent hands, and I cannot wait to go back when I’m not stuffed full of chocolate to get a proper slider meal!
