The Blue Moon Café holds a special place in my heart. During my time at Shepherd University, I probably passed by this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant every day. It was often a place I would swing by for a quick lunch, either to sit down with friends or to grab a to-go wrap. As I graduated and even moved away for a while, I stopped in less and less. Recently, though, I rediscovered this place, and even get to share it with my family now. And the Blue Moon Café remains as it did several years ago; a quaint place with good food, friendly service, and a beautiful patio area where the Town Run travels through.

The prices are rather standard at the Blue Moon Café. Along with appetizers, the menu consists of sandwiches and salads mostly, and the pricing is about typical for what you would pay for a similar restaurant. For me, it’s worth it because the food and service are always consistent and it’s convenient.

I love sitting outside at the Blue Moon Café. The space is so peaceful and relaxing. You can hear the water from the Town Run as it travels straight through the middle of the patio. They provide lots of shade from umbrellas and overhangs, but the tall trees also help to provide cover from the sun. Unfortunately, the patio will not always be open, especially on those cold winter days, but the inside also offers seating and is very cozy. It’s casual and fits right in with that college town vibe. It’s a great place to grab a quick meal and a drink with friends!

I have tried a lot of different items on the menu, and I’ve enjoyed every single one. My go-to order is the buffalo chicken wrap. It has a kick to it, but it’s still enjoyable, the chicken is crispy, and the veggies give it a freshness that you can’t beat! Other favorites of mine include the hummus appetizer, the bowl of black beans, the grilled chicken and avocado salad, the powerhouse sandwich, and the quesadilla (which is huge!!). I can always count on a solid experience at the Blue Moon Café.

Overall, I always have and always will rave about the Blue Moon Café. It’s not a gourmet restaurant, but you can always expect consistency and a good value. The area has a lot to offer, from food to nature to shopping to much more, so if you find yourself in Shepherdstown, consider checking out the Blue Moon Café.
Before you go, though, you may want to check their hours. They may change seasonally and they may also not be open every day. Because it does change, I am not including a schedule within the blog. Check out their website (https://bluemooncafeshepherdstown.com/)
